Daniel Vila
Percussion Director
Danielavr@comcast.net
Music has always been a passion of mine and I am proud to say that I have been a musician for over 14 years! I received a Bachelors in Music Education and Music Performance from the University of Houston, and a Masters in Music Performance from the University of Michigan. During this time, I have had the fortune to be able to study under many great names, including Doug Perkins, Ian Antonio, Michael Gould, Jonathan Ovalle, Jeremy Epp, Tom Sherwood, Blake Wilkins, Alec Warren, and Joel Fulgham. I was able to secure a Section Percussion position with the Midland Symphony Orchestra during my time in Michigan, and have also won 1st place in the duo division of the Great Planes International Marimba Competition. It is a desire of mine to enlighten and embolden young players to continue honing their craft. I have taught many students from the beginner level onwards, and those who have trusted my methods have gone on to fulfill their most wanted musical endeavors.
